Seriously, what did I do before a became a mother? Everything that I get to experience with Alex is so exciting, and I just can't wait for the next family day, or activity or new experience. After Halloween, we had a date planned with my best friend Jenn and her daughter Reeselin to head to the National Zoo in DC. I was soooo excited to share this new experience with Alex, I just couldn't take it any longer. We planned to meet in lot D at 10:00 AM. I had the stroller packed, a small diaper bag, her milk, and her food. I even brought along with us her "Goodnight Zoo" book.

We took a picture of the girls, and off we went!

I really wanted her to see the lions, tigers, elephants and monkeys. She was so excited with all the freedom, walking everywhere, holding Daddy's hand, and waving to everyone!

First stop was the carousel. She loved the one in Myrtle Beach, and had a blast! We stood in line, purchased the tickets, and waited for the next ride. She held on tight to her ticket, and watched as the animals went around and around.

Oh boy! Jenn and I had NO idea what we were getting ourselves into. We hopped on the carousel, chose our animal, and off we went. Music blaring, kids screaming, and fingernails digging in my arm. YEAH! So much fun! I'll refrain from posting pictures of the excitement!

So, off to see the animals! We started with the reptiles. Alex got to check out snakes, and frogs, and turtles galore.

While checking out the monkeys, she decided to do a little climbing of her own.

Halfway through, Alex decided to take a little cat nap. I was so sad Alex fell asleep and missed the elephants...

...but we made that up as we got to the top of the zoo, we were able to see the elephants again. She kept pointing and barking at the elephants, and "woof, woof" at the cheetahs. She was having an absolute blast walking around the zoo, and checking out all the animals! Lions and monkeys and zebras and cheetahs and bears. What didn't we get to see?

All in all, it was an absolute awesome day! To see the look on her face, and to see her running up and down the walkways was such a great feeling.

Such an awesome feeling, we are going to check out the Catoctin Zoo on Veterans Day!
